Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT)
The Behavior Intervention Team (BIT) is dedicated to a proactive, coordinated, and planned approach to the identification, prevention, assessment, management, and reduction of interpersonal and behavioral threats to the safety and well-being of all Columbus Technical College students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Campus Member Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of all faculty, staff, and students to immediately report any situation that could possibly result in harm to anyone at the College. The mission of the BIT is also to educate the campus community about proper responses to behavioral concerns, ranging from concerning behavior to crisis situations. No issue is too small to be recognized—if you feel uncomfortable, trust your instincts and notify someone.

Reporting Concerns
If you have general concerns about an individual’s behavior, please contact the BIT at BIT@columbustech.edu or submit the online BIT form through the CTC website to consult as early as possible. Individuals may also report a concern by speaking with staff in the CARE Center or the Office of Disability and Special Services.

Emergency Situations
When there is an active or immediate risk of violence or harm to others, call 911 or the CTC Police Department at 706-649-1933.
